Undergraduate Student Investment Advisory Service

The Undergraduate Student Investment Advisory Service (SIAS) Program provides undergraduate students a unique experience, unparallel to any other undergraduate programs. It was established in 2008 by Andrew Blazenko, Alex Tong, and Duc Nguyen; providing undergraduate students the professional skills and experience necessary to accentuate in today’s rapidly evolving industry.

As an Associate Analyst of the Undergraduate SIAS Program, students participate in managing a multi-million dollar fund, one of the largest student-managed funds in North America, currently in excess of $8 million. Associate Analysts provide a diverse coverage, covering:
  • Consumer Discretionary and Staple
  • Energy
  • Financial and Real Estate
  • Healthcare
  • Industrials
  • Materials
  • Utilities
To become an Associate Analyst, students go through a semester-long training program in which they’re trained by industry professionals in portfolio management and equity evaluation. Upon successful completion of the training program, students are required to write an entrance exam, and complete an extensive research project of a selected company. As an Associate Analyst, students are provided continual mentorship by industry professionals and graduate students, and additional workshops to progress their skills and knowledge.

SIAS Fund Highlights:
  • Largest student-run fund in Canada
  • Awarded best student-run value investment fund in North America for 2007 based on performance by RISE (recognized by Businessweek)
