About Us

The SFU Finance Club is a not-for-profit, student-orientated organization that brings together enthusiastic students in the field of finance. Our scope is not limited to business or finance majors, as our club extends membership to all students interested in any aspect of finance. Founded in the summer semester of 2001, this relatively young club has already built up a solid reputation, through events such as Finance Night, BC Portfolio Management Challenge, and CFA Night.

The objectives of the club are to:
Initiate and maintain fellowship between SFU students who are interested in the field of finance.
Establish close ties between SFU and the Finance/Investment profession.
Assist in job search and career direction.
Please feel free to view our Club Constitution.

JOSH PELIGAL, VP Communications E-mail
Josh hates weekends because there is no stock market (and is also responsible for those ridiculously awesome finance club t-shirts all the cool kids are wearing). He is currently in his fourth year of an Honours Finance and International Business BBA. After joining the finance club in 2008 and starting up the Finance Club T-shirt initiative, Josh continued to be an active member during his coop placements and seized the chance to play an even bigger roll as the VP of Communication. Currently on exchange at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia he communicates mainly by e-mail running the Bull vs Bear Challenge and providing graphical support.
